Clark County

I-5 - SB Interstate Br. to NE 78th St. Vic - Active Traffic Management

Description: Crews will install an Active Traffic Management (ATM) system, along southbound I-5, between Northeast 78th Street and the Interstate Bridge. See how WSDOT is using smart technology to improve safety and trip reliability on southbound I-5, in Vancouver. 
Work schedule: 

  • Beginning Tuesday, May 26 - Thursday, June, 4: Crews will work to improve safety using smart technology along southbound I-5, between Northeast 78th Street and the Interstate Bridge with shoulder closures, daily from 7:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.​
  • Beginning Monday, June 1 - Thursday, June 4: Travelers on southbound I-5 will encounter ramp closures, between Northeast 78th Street and the Interstate Bridge, M,T, W, TH from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., for paving work.

NE Lake Road / NE Everett Street Intersection Improvements Project

Description: The City of Camas is improving the intersection between Northeast Everett Street (SR 500) and Northeast Lake Road. This is a critical intersection for the community, connecting the north shore, south shore and downtown Camas and providing access to regional recreational areas at Lacamas Lake and Round Lake. As community and regional growth have increased so has traffic, causing safety and mobility concerns. 
Work schedule: 

  • Monday, May 11, until further notice: Travelers on both directions of Northeast Everett Street/SR500, at the Northeast Lake Road intersection will encounter flaggers directing traffic through a single lane, daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., for tree removal work for intersection improvements construction. Roundabout construction to include new storm drainage systems, roadway realignment and pedestrian facilities. 
  • Note: The speed limit has been reduced to 25mph throughout the project limits, and will remain in place for the duration of the project. 

SR 500 – Burnt Bridge Creek to NE 4th Plain Blvd. Paving & Expansion Joints

Description: Crews will replace expansion joints and do paving work on SR 500 near St. Johns Blvd to Fourth Plain Boulevard
Work schedule: 

  • Monday, June, 8 to the morning of Friday, June 12: Travelers on both directions SR 500, near St. Johns Blvd to Fourth Plain Boulevard, will be shifted into a single lane nightly, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., for paving and bridge expansion joint replacement work.
  • Note: Travelers should expect delays and slow down through the work zone.  

SR 503 - Between Northeast Healy Road and Chelatchie Creek Tributary

Description: Clark County Public Utility will be trimming trees around power lines along SR 503, between Northeast Healy Road and the Chelatchie Creek Tributary. 
Work schedule: 

  • Tuesday, May 26 to Friday, May 29: Travelers on both directions of SR 503, between Northeast Healy Road and the Chelatchie Creek Tributary, will alternate through a single lane, daily, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for tree trimming around power lines. 
  • Monday, June 1 to Friday, June 5:  Travelers on both directions of SR 503, between Northeast Healy Road and the Chelatchie Creek Tributary, will alternate through a single lane, daily, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for tree trimming around power lines.
  • Note: Travelers should expect delays and slow down through the area. 
     

Cowlitz County

SR 433 - Lewis and Clark Bridge - Electrical Work

SR 504 - Spirit Lake Memorial Highway - Remains Closed

Description: WSDOT Maintenance crews have closed access to the upper levels of the SR 504 Spirit Lake Memorial Highway, near Hummocks Trailhead, until further notice. 
Work schedule:  

  • Beginning Thursday, Oct. 31, until further notice: Access to the upper level of SR 504/Spirit Lake Memorial Highway, near Hummocks Trailhead at the gate at milepost 45 remains closed. 
  • Note: During the road closure, travelers will have access to Coldwater Lake.  
     

Klickitat County

  • No scheduled traffic impacts.  

Lewis County

SR 507 – Near Carson Street - Fire Hydrant Installation

Description: Contractor crews working for WSDOT and the City of Centralia will work to install a fire hydrant at SR 507, near Carson Street.
Work schedule: 

  • Thursday, May 28 to Friday, May 29: Travelers on both directions of SR 507 near Carson Street, will alternate through a single lane daily, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for fire hydrant installation work.

SR 506 - Lacamas Creek Bridge Replacement

Description: Contractor crews working for WSDOT will replace the aging  Lacamas Creek Bridge located on SR 506 near Vader. 
Work schedule: 

  • Beginning on Tuesday, June 18, until further notice: Both directions of SR 506 between Telegraph Road and the end of the Lacamas Creek Bridge will fully close for bridge replacement work. During construction, travelers can follow a signed detour using South Military Road and SR 505. The bridge closure and detour will remain in place until construction of the new bridge is complete.

SR 6 - Fronia Creek - Fish Passage

Description: Contractor crews working for WSDOT will replace the aging culverts under SR 6 east of Pe Ell. 
Work schedule:

  • Beginning Monday, July 26, until further notice: Travelers on both directions of SR 6, near Jones Creek just east of Pe Ell, will be shifted onto a temporary single-lane, bypass road. This detour allows travelers to safely bypass construction around-the-clock, and will be controlled with an automated signal. Travelers should expect delays of up to 20 minutes, for additional intermittent, daytime single-lane closures, as needed.
     

Pacific County

SR 6 - Salmon Creek Fish Passage

Description: Contractor crews working for WSDOT will replace the aging culvert under SR 6 west of Pe Ell in Pacific County.

  • Beginning Tuesday, Aug. 13 until further notice: Travelers on both directions of SR 6, between mileposts 22.60 and 22.69, will be shifted onto a temporary single-lane, bypass road. This detour allows travelers to safely bypass construction around-the-clock, and will be controlled with an automated signal. Travelers should expect delays of up to 20 minutes, for additional intermittent, daytime single-lane closures, as needed. 
     

Skamania County

SR14 – Bridge of the Gods Night Closure

Description: Bridge of the Gods Night Closure
Work schedule:

  • Friday, May 29 to the morning of Friday, June, 5: Access to the The Bridge of the Gods from SR 14 will be closed nightly from 9:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m., for bridge truss repair work.  
  • Note: The bridge will remain open on Friday and Saturday nights throughout the project.
     

Wahkiakum County

    SR 4 - near Columbia Street - Waterline Installation
    Highway: SR 4 Region: Southwest County: Wahkiakum Location: Milepost 36.1 – 36.5

    Description: Contractor crews working for WSDOT will work to install a waterline on Columbia Street and SR 4 in Cathlamet, WA.
    Work schedule:

    • Tuesday, May 26 through Friday, August 3: Travelers on southbound Columbia Street who wish to turn onto SR 4, will follow a signed detour using Jacobsen Road, daily, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., for waterline installation work.  
    • Note: Columbia Street will be open to local traffic only during work hours and opened to all traffic after 6 p.m.

    SR 4 -  Emergency Landslide Repair
    Highway: SR 4 Region: Southwest County: Wahkiakum Location: Milepost 19.0 - 26.0

    Description: Debris removal and slope stabilization work continues, following the landslide on SR 4 west of Cathlamet.
    Work schedule:

    • Beginning Saturday, Feb. 8 until further notice: Travelers on both directions of SR 4, between Loop Road and West Valley Road, will be alternated through a single lane with a temporary traffic signal, around-the-clock for the duration of the project.
    • Note: For safety, the speed limit has been reduced to 25 mph throughout the work zone.

    Safety Tips for Driving Through Work Zones

    • Pay attention - driver inattention is the number one cause of work zone accidents.
    • Leave room between you and the car ahead of you - most work zone accidents involve someone running into the car ahead of them.
    • Drive defensively - be aware of what is happening around you.
    • Merge into the proper lane before you reach the work zone.
    • Don't use cell phones or adjust your radio while driving.
    • Avoid work zones by using alternate routes
