US 2 NCR ADA Compliance Project #9327
County: Chelan, Highway: US 2  Region: North Central
Location: MP 82 Nason Creek Rest Area & MP 99 to 101 Leavenworth
Description: In this $714,113 project, Merno & Nelson Construction Corp. is improving ADA curb ramps, gutter, and sidewalks at the Nason Creek Rest Area (completed) and through the City of Leavenworth. Construction began in April and should be complete by Memorial Day.
Work schedule: Monday through Thursday, Days: 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., expect functioning traffic signals at Chumstick and Riverbend with slow traffic & delays due to lane shifts.  NIGHTS: 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., expect flagger controlled traffic at the US 2 Chumstick Hwy. and Riverbend Dr. intersections as needed.

US 2 Crack Seal 
County: Douglas  Highway: US 2 Region: North Central
Location: MP 134-137 (Turtle Rock)
Description:  Maintenance crews will be crack sealing the highway south of Orondo near Turtle Rock. 
Work Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. expect some delays with flaggers and pilot car controlled traffic.

US 2/97 at 35th Street NW – NW Empire Avenue to Cascade Avenue Project (Douglas County) 
County: Douglas   Highway: US 2/97  Region: North Central
Location: US 2/97 at Cascade Avenue  
Description:  This project will extend 35th Street across Cascade Avenue to the west to connect with Empire Avenue in Douglas County.
Work schedule: Cascade Street at the intersection with US 2/97 is closed while the project contractor works on this project.  There is a signed detour.

SR 20/Loup Loup Pass – Emergency Repair 2019 #4952
Counties: Okanogan  Highway:  SR 20  Region: North Central
Location:  MP 222 (seven miles east of Loup Loup summit)
Description: Hurst Construction, LLC has been selected as the contractor for this $1.32 million emergency work to rebuild the slope under the roadway, as well as the asphalt surface and guardrail that have been eroded from ground water.  Work will require the construction of an access road from SR 20 down to bottom of the washout.  
Work schedule: Monday through Saturday, 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. expect delays with singe-lane signal controlled traffic.  Flagger controlled traffic may be in place as needed by the contractor.  Signal remains in place during non-work hours.

SR 28/South Quincy Avenue Intersection Improvement
County: Chelan, Highway: SR 28   Region: North Central
Location: SR 28 MP 3.8 (S. Quincy Avenue between East Wenatchee and Rock Island)
Description: A WSDOT crew installed and striped new two-way left turn pockets at the intersection of SR 28 and S. Quincy Avenue last week. Monday a contractor crew is installing recessed reflective pavement markers, rumble strips and permanent plastic turn arrows.
Work schedule: Monday only, 6 a.m. to 1 p.m., expect delays with flagger-controlled traffic.

SR 28 Ephrata to Soap Lake Paving and ADA Compliance #9367
County: Grant   Highway: SR 28  Region: North Central
Location: MP 44.5-53.0 (Ephrata to Soap Lake)
Description: In this $3.6 million project, Columbia Asphalt and Ready Mix crews will lower utilities within city limits and update deficient sidewalk curb ramps to meet ADA standards.  Project began March 25 and should be complete in August. 
Work schedule: Monday through Friday, construction will be from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Expect minor delays and lane shifts, and shoulder closures.  There will also be sidewalk closures with pedestrian detours as needed.

SR 28/13th Avenue Roundabout (City of Quincy) 
County: Grant   Highway: SR 28  Region: North Central
Location: SR 28 MP 28 (intersection with 13th Avenue)  
Description:  The City of Quincy has contracted Tommer Construction to build a roundabout at the intersection of SR 28 and 13th Avenue.
Work schedule: Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Expect lane shifts and flagger-controlled traffic with short delays, or a long detour.

I-90 NCR ADA Compliance Project #9327
Counties: Grant  Highway:  I-90  Region: North Central
Location:  I-90 MP 161 Winchester WB Rest Area
Description: This $714,113 project, awarded to Merno & Nelson Construction Corporation, will improve ADA curb ramps, gutter, and sidewalks at the Winchester Rest Area. Construction began April 22 and should be complete by Memorial Day.
Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Crews continue demolition of existing curb ramps this week. Pedestrian detours will be in place. The work zone is confined to the rest area; no traffic on the highway will be impacted.

US 97 Boundary Bridge #9323
County: Kittitas  Highway: US 97  Region: North Central
Location: MP 159-160 near Swauk Campground
Description: In this $4.5M project, WHH Nisqually Construction Services will construct a concrete bridge to replace an old culvert that created a fish passage barrier. Work will include a detour widening to shift traffic while the bridge is constructed half at a time.  Two-way traffic will be maintained outside working hours throughout the life of the project, except some instances of work that may require overnight flagging. No full closures of US 97 are planned for this project.  Work started April 15 and is scheduled to be complete in late October.
Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., expect flagger controlled traffic with delays up to 20 minutes near Swauk Campground as the contractor continues construction of a temporary detour widening.

US 97A City of Chelan Sewer Repair 
County: Chelan  Highway: US 97 Region: North Central 
Location: MP 223-234 (City of Chelan)
Description: City of Chelan is open cutting the left lane of the highway to complete sewer repair work,
Work Schedule: Monday through Wednesday, between 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. expect lane shifts and possible delays.

SR 155 Grand Coulee Bridge Illumination Upgrade #9387
County: Douglas  Highway: SR 155 Region: North Central 
Location: MP 28 (Coulee Dam)
Description: In this $242,086 project, Colvico, Inc. will upgrade the current illumination system for the Grand Coulee Bridge with LED lights.  There are no full closures scheduled for this work.  Work is scheduled to take about a month.
Work Schedule: Monday through Thursday, between 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. expect one lane flagger controlled traffic across the bridge.

Description: In this $8.5M project, Granite Construction is resurfacing SR 155 from Coulee Dam to Omak.  Work includes crack sealing, shoulder work, pavement repair, asphalt paving, and chip sealing to preserve the roadway. Work started April 22 and is expected to be complete in August.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. expect delays up to 20 min. at a single work zone and pilot car controlled traffic for paving and fog seal work.

SR 243 NCR Seal 2019 #9365
County: Grant  Highway: SR 243  Region: North Central
Location: MP 0-28 Vernita to Vantage
Description:  In this $8.5M project, Granite Construction is resurfacing SR 243 from the Jct  w/SR 24 to the Jct w/SR 26,  Work includes crack sealing, shoulder work, pavement repair, asphalt paving, and chip sealing to preserve the roadway. Work started April 22 and is expected to be complete in August.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. expect delays up to 20 min. at 2 separate work zones with flaggers and pilot car controlled traffic.
