BUCKLEY – It’s out with the old and in with the new: Improvements are coming to traffic signals at three intersections on State Route 410 in Buckley beginning this month.

Starting the week of Aug. 6, contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will begin work to replace aging outdated signal systems in the City of Buckley.

Crews will install new updated signal systems at the SR 410 intersections of Mundy Loss Road, Main Street and Park Avenue. These modern signals are expected to help improve traffic flow at intersections that saw an average of 18,000 and 20,000 daily vehicles in 2017.

In addition, contractor crews will rebuild sidewalk ramps at the intersections of Main Street and Park Avenue, to make them more accessible for people of all abilities.

During the work, travelers will see daytime shoulder closures and occasional overnight shoulder and lane closures Monday through Thursday.

The $2.3 Million project is expected to be completed later this fall.
